Accounts Receivable Clerk – Permanent Full-time Position ADL West Royalty – Charlottetown, PE Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is a producer-owned cooperative celebrated for its excellence in dairy processing and foodservice distribution across Prince Edward Island. Position Overview: Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk plays an important role in supporting ADL’s dairy operations at the West Royalty and St. Eleanors plants. This position manages accounts for local businesses, institutions and national retailers across PEI, ensuring payments are recorded accurately, accounts stay current, and customer relationships remain positive and professional. This position is best suited for someone who values accuracy and takes pride in keeping things organized and running smoothly. It’s steady, detail-focused work that offers the opportunity to grow within a collaborative finance team as ADL continues to strengthen its processes. Location: ADL West Royalty, Industrial Park, 50 4 St, Charlottetown, PE (This position supports both West Royalty and St. Eleanor’s operations. Candidates based in either Charlottetown or Summerside will be considered.) Key Responsibilities: * Accurately and promptly post and reconcile daily customer payments, including pre-authorized debits, credit cards, electronic transfers (EFT), and cheques. * Ensure timely distribution and accuracy of customer and PAD statements while maintaining well-organized account records. * Review, verify, and apply credit balances, refunds, and adjustments with precision. * Investigate and resolve billing, invoicing, and collection issues with professionalism and attention to detail. * Monitor aging reports consistently and follow up on overdue balances early and proactively to keep accounts within terms. * Work on National Retailer accounts and their portals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with partner requirements. * Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers by phone and email to clarify discrepancies and maintain positive relationships. * Work collaboratively and dependably with the AR team to meet collection goals, share information, and support process improvements. * Adapt and contribute thoughtfully as ADL continues to enhance its accounting systems and workflows, offering ideas and feedback along the way. Qualifications: * Experience in Accounts Receivable, accounting, or a related administrative role is preferred. * Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related field is an asset. * Proficient in Excel; able to use formulas and spreadsheets to track and reconcile information accurately. * Experience with ERP systems or EDI portals is an asset but not required. * Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. * Effective communicator — confident when following up with customers and persistent in maintaining accurate records. * Dependable, adaptable, and composed; able to manage multiple priorities. * A motivated team player with initiative and a strong sense of accountability.
