POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable (AR) Generalist to join our Accounting team. This role plays a key part in supporting the end-to-end AR process, including billing, cash application, deduction dispute resolution, and sales tax reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of AR operations, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to continuous process improvement.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, ideally within a mid-sized organization.
• Strong understanding of AR processes and general accounting principles.
• Experience processing cash receipts from Big Box Retailers (Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, etc.)
• Prior experience resolving customer deductions or disputes.
• Experience with customer portals is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities with the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Great Plains experience preferred.

• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in line with company policies and terms.
• Perform daily cash application and ensure timely and accurate posting of AR transactions.
• Manage customer deduction disputes by creating and implementing standardized procedures.
• Coordinate with internal departments to investigate and resolve deduction-related issues.
• Clear resolved deductions from outstanding customer AR balances.
• Maintain and utilize sales tax reporting tools and software.
• Participate in monthly AR meetings to review aging reports, provide updates on open disputes, and identify recurring issues or trends.
• Recommend and support implementation of process improvements within the AR function.
• Provide cross-functional support to other accounting team members as needed.
