Description The AP/AR Clerk will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company and ensuring the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients and customers. This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week, and is not a benefits-eligible role. The role will be on-site 5 days per week; hours can be discussed, preferred hours would be 9 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Duties/Responsibilities Accounts Receivable duties: • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. • Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers. • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing addresses. • Identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment. • Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts. • Generating monthly billing statements and late fees. Accounts Payable duties: • Reviewing purchase orders, matching vendor invoices, and resolving discrepancies. • Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment and identifies discount opportunities. • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions. • Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy with the ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records. • Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs. Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Associate degree in accounting preferred. • Two (2) years of related experience is required. Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
