  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 2 plus years in AR, cash application, or collections roles—preferably in subscription, streaming, media, or technology
  • Systems & Tools:


    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and billing platforms is highly valued.

      Responsibilities

      ABOUT THE ROLE

      As an Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing incoming customer payments, supporting cashflow, and ensuring billing processes are accurate and efficient. This role demands strong accounting fundamentals, excellent communication, and a process-improvement mindset.

      CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Collections & Dispute Resolution: Monitor overdue accounts, reach out proactively through email/phone, resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate repayment plans or credit holds
      • Payment Application: Receive, verify, and apply payments (wires, checks, electronic), ensuring alignment with outstanding invoices and AR ledger accounts.
      • Customer Engagement: Act as a liaison for billing inquiries, statements, backup documentation requests, and support ad-hoc customer requests across departments
      • Account Reconciliation & Close Support: Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, G/L subledgers, and support month end close activities; assist with bad debt‑ allowance assessments when needed
      • Reporting & Analysis: Maintain AR aging reports, DSO calculation, cash forecast insights, and other metrics to support financial visibility and decision making
      • Invoice Processing & Billing: Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices on a regular cadence (e.g. monthly billing cycles), using ERP or billing systems. Handle special invoicing cases or corrections when needed
      • Process Improvement: Document existing workflows, identify billing & collection efficiency opportunities, and help implement automation or system enhancements to streamline AR functions.
      • Internal Business Partners: Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure alignment of any customer collection challenges with follow-through support to resolution.
