The Opportunity:
As the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will be responsible for handling a variety of cash application and reporting responsibilities and managing a team. You will handle the day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including cash posting, payment re-allocation, client retainers, client refunds, and ad-hoc reporting.
The Day-To-Day:

On any given day, you will:

  • Lead and mentor the team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Ensure high quality work product, prepare and communicate annual reviews, identify opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of the daily check, wire and credit card deposits for both domestic and international offices
  • Post client retainers and process the transfer of retainers in support of the billing operations
  • Reconcile the AR ledgers to ensure payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Assist the Accounting team with monthly reconciliation
  • Assist staff in resolving complex billing, allocation, and cash application issues
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationship with legal staff and members of the Finance team
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 5-6 years of accounts receivable experience
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Aderant software experience preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality of finished product
  • Ability to problem solve

Location Specific Language:
The salary range for this role is $92,000 to $105,000 annually, which is based on a 40-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Chicago. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
