JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Semi Senior to join us at our Exeter Office!
As a Semi Senior you will work with a portfolio of clients, primarily focussing on the preparation of limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts. You will be responsible for the preparation of both company tax return and individual tax returns. You should be able to complete the files to review stage with some support from more senior colleagues.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, Quickbook or Xero, as well as accounts production software such as CCH
  • Ability to show initiative and work within a team
  • Ability to build good client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent, with 2 years practice experience.
Responsibilities
  • Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts
  • Preparation of limited company statutory financial statements from source records
  • Maintaining client books and records on a regular basis, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Preparing corporation tax computation calculations
  • On site visits to clients
  • Provide support to clients, dealing with any queries relating to their accounting records.
  • Liaise with HMRC where needed
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Performance of tasks in an organised, accurate and timely manner.
  • Providing assistance to trainees and supervising junior colleagues, supporting them with any queries they have relating to their work
  • Supporting the managers with tasks they need assisting on
  • Supporting and communicating with your managers on all tasks assigned
  • Daily accurate completion of timesheet.
  • Continuous professional development to deepen own knowledge and understanding and keep up to date with any changes within the industry
