The role of Accounts Team Leader would suit an accountant with at least 3 years’ active experience, with a relevant accounting degree, and possesses leadership experience. If you are actively seeking to move into a management role, this full-time, permanent position will give you the perfect opportunity to grow and develop your skills.
Location: Winchester. This is an office based role (please note that WFH or remote cannot be accommodated)
Permanent, full-time position: Monday – Friday 0900-1700
Salary: Between £35,000 - £40,000 neg. per year plus annual bonus

The role of Accounts Team Leader will evolve to Accounts Manager (within 6-12 months), whereby you will take full responsibility for the company’s daily financial operations, supported by a team of two Accounts Assistants. You will lead the finance function, deliver accurate and timely reporting, and ensure strong internal controls.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A relevant degree and very strong Microsoft Excel skills (essential).
  • Strong technical accounts knowledge
  • Experience of AI
  • At least 3 years’ experience within an accounts role
  • Highly numerate, detail-oriented, and organised.
  • Hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Part-qualified (ACCA or a willingness to study (with company support).
  • Experience with Sage Accounts.
  • A clear communicator and team player with the confidence to take ownership.

Responsibilities
  • Controlling BACS submission processes and managing banking authorities.
  • Maintaining controls over settlements and adjustments, and commissions.
  • Overseeing payroll, pensions, benefits, and HMRC submissions.
  • Producing timely monthly management accounts and ensure full reconciliation of all ledgers and control accounts.
  • Managing the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
  • Leading, supporting, and developing the accounts team to ensure high-quality delivery and team resilience.
  • Contributing financial insights to business decisions and identifying process improvements.
  • Supporting system and reporting enhancements and implement process improvements across the department.
