ABOUT THE ROLE:
A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start their career, working towards an internationally recognised qualification (AAT) and gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm. You will join a dynamic team and work with a range of different businesses and rapidly gain responsibility whilst at the same time completing your qualification with us.
You will have a dedicated people manager and work within a team of like-minded individuals at various stages in their studies. Every six months, your progress is formally monitored and reviewed by the firm’s training team. Your study records, both of work experience and examinations, will be discussed with you and targets set for the future. The variety and level of work provided by the firm is planned in conjunction with the progress made in academic studies and previous experience.
Signing up as a trainee accountant is a big commitment and we support our trainees as much as we can to help them with their studies. This includes paying for the costs of these studies and allowing paid for time away from the office for study. We also provide excellent on-the-job training and all of our trainees are given a wide range of work to enable them to learn and develop. It is our belief that each trainee has a chance of becoming a partner in this firm and we give them every opportunity to push themselves forward. And it does happen – five of our current partners trained with the firm.
Our offices are based in central London but you will spend part of your working time outside the office working at clients’ premises. Most of our clients are based within the Greater London area. A typical assignment might last a couple of weeks, some more, some less. You will start as a junior member of a team of two to four people. Key responsibilities will include accounts preparation work, carry out ad hoc accounting and client service tasks and initially supporting audit teams with audit testing and other audit work, developing into leading audits by the end of the training contract.
