The Arlington County Police Department's [https://www.arlingtonva.us/Government/Departments/Police-Department] (ACPD) Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is hiring an Accreditation Manager to manage the Department’s comprehensive accreditation program with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). This Manager works closely with personnel throughout the Department to ensure ongoing compliance with CALEA standards. The OPR reports directly to the Chief of Police and consists of the Internal Affairs Unit, the Legislative Affairs and Inspectional Services Unit, and the Freedom of Information Act and Civil Process Unit. The activities include conducting and assisting with internal investigations, performing audits, serving as the Department's legislative liaison, managing the accreditation process, fulfilling Freedom of Information Act requests, and other special projects as assigned by the Chief of Police. The OPR also serves as the liaison to the Community Oversight Board and Independent Police Auditor.
Responsibilities
Manage the Department’s comprehensive accreditation program with CALEA to ensure ongoing compliance with professional standards. Coordinate with personnel across the department to perform audits and assist with internal investigations and legislative affairs.
