Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Buyer at Altitude Sports, you will drive the vision and strategy for your portfolio, ensuring alignment with our overarching vision, mission, and values. Your role is pivotal in shaping the growth trajectory of the department and optimizing our market position through strategic merchandise assortment, innovative supplier partnerships, and data-driven decision-making. In addition, you will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with our various suppliers. You will also be required to travel a few times a year as part of your duties.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive vision and strategy for your portfolio, aligning with Altitude Sports’ core vision, mission, and values to ensure long-term success and competitive advantage.
  • Drive portfolio growth by designing and implementing strategic merchandise assortment plans for major accounts.
  • Cultivate success by achieving pre-established sales and purchasing budget goals for the Altitude Sports & The Last Hunt platforms.
  • Conduct in-depth performance and budget analyses to identify and capitalize on sales and margin opportunities, enabling the department to exceed its strategic objectives.
  • Negotiate annual and seasonal agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and support the department’s growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to manage the “open-to-buy” budget, optimizing purchases related to receipts, sales, margins, markdowns, and inventory levels.
  • Manage inventory by approving transfers, promotions, end-of-season lists, etc
  • Stay ahead of trends and shifts in consumer behavior, and use this information to develop strategic growth initiatives and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Adjust your portfolio’s strategic plan based on market evolution to ensure it remains relevant.Identify, suggest, and integrate new brands for upcoming seasons.
