Job Summary The Pre-Service Coordinator Level I is responsible for performing basic scheduling and pre-registration tasks under close supervision. This role assists with scheduling diagnostic tests, obtaining basic insurance information, and handling patient inquiries in a timely and efficient manner. The Level 1 Coordinator works closely with the Patient Financial Services Director to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information while adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Essential Functions Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures as directed, ensuring timely and accurate data entry. Obtain basic insurance and billing information to facilitate patient registration. Assist with verifying patient information and updating records in the scheduling system. Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and third-party payers regarding scheduled tests and procedures. Maintain communication with physician offices to confirm pre-cert/authorization numbers. Provide general office support, including data entry and filing. Document patient interactions and update patient records as necessary. Follow established procedures to maintain patient confidentiality and data security. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Basic knowledge of scheduling systems and insurance processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under close supervision and follow detailed instructions. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Licenses/Certifications None required Experience Minimal experience required; prior customer service or administrative experience preferred.
