Job Summary The Supervisor - Clinic Revenue Cycle Liaison and Billing plays a dual role in overseeing clinic billing operations while serving as the primary connection between clinical teams and revenue cycle functions. This position ensures accurate and timely claim submission, resolves billing discrepancies, and fosters collaboration across departments to enhance financial performance and patient satisfaction. The supervisor also leads the billing team, monitors performance metrics, and drives process improvements to optimize revenue cycle efficiency. Essential Functions Team Leadership and Supervision Supervise the daily activities of the billing team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of claims, payments, and adjustments Recruit, train, and develop billing staff, providing ongoing feedback and conducting performance evaluations Develop team schedules to ensure adequate coverage and maintain workflow efficiency Revenue Cycle Liaison Functions Act as a liaison between clinical departments, providers, and revenue cycle teams to address documentation, coding, and billing concerns Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation that supports billing requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated issues, resolving discrepancies and fostering interdepartmental communication Billing Operations Management Oversee claim submission processes to ensure compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements Monitor and manage accounts receivable, identifying and addressing trends in denials, rejections, or underpayments Partner with the coding and compliance teams to ensure claims are accurate and minimize audit risks Process Improvement and Reporting Analyze billing workflows and recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and revenue capture Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for billing operations, providing regular reports to leadership Lead or participate in initiatives to implement new billing systems, tools, or policies Process Improvement and Reporting Analyze billing workflows and recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and revenue capture Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for billing operations, providing regular reports to leadership Lead or participate in initiatives to implement new billing systems, tools, or policies Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure billing practices align with federal and state regulations, payer policies, and organizational standards Conduct audits of billing processes and claims to identify and address potential compliance risks Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and industry trends, and communicate their impact to relevant teams Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems Strong knowledge of healthcare billing processes, payer regulations and revenue cycle management Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Education Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management or a related field. (preferred) Licenses/Certifications Certification in billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is highly desirable Experience Minimum of 6 months of experience in healthcare billing or revenue cycle operations with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role Proven experience collaborating with clinical teams to resolve documentation or billing concerns
