SYLVAN LEARNING: SAT/ACT PREP IN-PERSON INSTRUCTOR

With 600 locations across the US and Canada and over 45 years of experience, Sylvan Learning is the #1 provider of supplemental education and tutoring services for students in grades K-12th grade. Sylvan offers a comprehensive ACT and SAT test prep program which includes strategies and content review of all subjects, as well as multiple practice tests and access to an online portal for additional practice material.
We are looking for a dynamic and engaging instructor with strong prior experience teaching SAT/ACT prep material and/or experience teaching high school level math and ELA. The instructor will teach Sylvan provided materials in-person to between 2-4 students at a time. In addition to teaching, the instructor would spend additional time reviewing individual students’ practice tests and portal results to provide meaningful coaching and feedback.
We’re looking for an instructor with availability from 4-7pm Monday - Thursday and from 10am-2pm on Saturdays & Sundays. Availability to teach at our Glenview location. Candidates with the ability and willingness to also teach at our Lincolnwood and/or tutor non prep students will have access to increased number of available shifts.
NOTE: Due to the nature of this position, all candidates will need to pass an ACT diagnostic assessment according to Sylvan’s benchmark to be considered for employment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any subject or major.
  • Prior experience tutoring for SAT and/or ACT tests.
  • Consistent availability for teaching weekday evenings and weekends throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity.

    Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
