Description Country Village is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will help plan and facilitate engaging activities that support residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Activities Assistant plays an important role in helping residents maintain lifelong interests, social connections, and independence while fostering a positive, enriching environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead group and individual activities based on residents’ interests and abilities. Encourage resident participation and ensure residents are informed of scheduled activities. Provide bedside activities for residents who cannot attend group events. Adapt activities to meet residents’ cognitive and physical abilities. Assist with creating and distributing the monthly activity calendar and newsletter. Promote a positive and respectful environment that protects the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident. Monitor activity spaces and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Support seasonal events, holiday celebrations, and special programs. Follow facility policies related to infection control, safety, and emergency procedures. Participate in required training and in-service education. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in activities or working with older adults preferred Ability to obtain California Department of Social Services background clearance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing Additional Requirements TB test and physical examination required per state regulations Current First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain) Must comply with all facility policies and safety procedures
