Description POSITION: Activities Attendant DEPARTMENT: Activities PLACE OF WORK: Various Recreation Facilities REPORTS TO: Activities Manager JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for the organization and operation of various recreational programs and facilities. Deal with all home owners and guests in a professional manner. STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: · Prior customer service experience. · Able to lift 30 or more pounds. · Able to work alone and as part of a team. · Appreciates and respects nature and its surroundings. · Good organizational skills. · Ability to communicate well with homeowners, guests and coworkers. · Valid Driver’s License · Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holiday week/ends Desirable: · Prior guest relations training · Hospitality experience · CPR, First Aid, AED certified · College graduate · Knowledge about fitness and recreation activities/programs · Able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, evenings, and holidays. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: · Ability to communicate in English with homeowners/guests/employees. · Ability to adhere to safe driving rules. · Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. · Ability to focus on homeowners/guest needs, inquiries and provide appropriate responses · Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. · Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision. · Ability to ensure security of resort property. · Ability to maintain confidentiality of homeowner/guest information and pertinent resort data. WORKING CONDITIONS: Many tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, and windy weather. Temperature can be extreme. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stoop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; may be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with co-workers; communicate with guests and customers, have patience with children, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be friendly and cheerful with a positive attitude. Must be capable of working productively without close supervision. Must be trustworthy to handle the cash and inventory. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: · Maintain knowledge of: o Scheduled daily activities; o Features and services of the resort; o Hours of operation of each outlet; · Assist in planning and executing regularly scheduled activities, special events, and holiday activities. · Assist with teambuilding events. · Assist with pool areas to include chemical testing, towels, maintain locker rooms, and maintain fitness center. · Assist with maintaining the South lawn to include, playground, Lawn bowling, lawn games and other sports equipment. · Assist with maintaining pavilion to include Bike rentals/ bike tours, archery, paddle tennis/pickle ball rentals, ice skate, and snow shoes. · Assist with lake front operations to include towels, lifejacket distribution, and over all beach and locker room cleanliness. · Lead hayrides, nature hike, kayak tours, bike tours and winter sports tours. · Assist with crafts, games, and outside lawn games. · Assist with Grand March. · Complete daily departmental procedures for the Activities Department. · Maintain accurate knowledge of activities to recommend for homeowners/guest inquiries. · Effectively and efficiently handle homeowners/guest issues NOTICE Job descriptions are not intended, and should not be construed, to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with a job. Responsibilities
The Activities Attendant is responsible for organizing and operating various recreational programs and facilities, dealing professionally with all homeowners and guests. Duties include assisting in planning and executing scheduled activities, special events, and maintaining various recreational areas like pools, lawns, and equipment rentals.
