Responsibilities

CONTENT OF THE ROLE:

  • To lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice, and dignity.
  • To create stimulating and varied leisure activities and social events, inside and outside the home for the residents to enjoy. You will understand the residents likes/dislikes, abilities and needs to put together individual social care plans and to evaluate/and change depending on their needs/wants.
  • To work alongside volunteers to provide a variety of appropriate social opportunities and events.
  • Internal Relations: Working alongside the Home Manager, Healthcare Assistants, Residents.
  • External Relations: Communicating with relatives, visitors, volunteers, and community contacts.
  • Help support the home to welcome relatives and allow them to join in activities.

RELATED TASKS:

  • To assist and support with meal times where required.
  • To provide inspirational resources and ideas to care staff for groups and 1-2-1 social events.
  • To Understand and be able to mediate when residents become agitated.
  • To assist residents in emergency situations
  • To be familiar and competent in using risk assessments for outside trips.
  • To ensure all activities conducted are documented in your diary.
  • To keep the admin and home manager team informed of any upcoming events within the home or externally.
  • to report and record incidents to the person in charge
  • To obtain resident feedback through one to ones.
  • To undertake any other duties, within your area of competence, as required by the home Manager.
  • To ensure residents confidentiality is always respected and kept private. Follow the Code of Conduct book, Staff handbook, and Policies and Procedures.
