ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Care Team at Ashgill Care Home. This role plays a key part in supporting the intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents through a diverse and engaging programme of activities.
As Activities Coordinator, you will organise and deliver meaningful activities that improve the quality of life for all residents, with particular attention to those who are less physically active. You’ll work closely with care staff, families, and volunteers to tailor experiences that reflect the interests and needs of each individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and deliver daily activities that support active and healthy living
  • Create and maintain an ongoing programme that stimulates residents and offers variety over time
  • Identify group and individual needs and tailor activities accordingly
  • Encourage involvement from the local community
  • Collaborate with the wider Care Team, including nurses, care assistants, volunteers, and families
  • Organise and accompany residents on external outings, ensuring appropriate transport and safety measures are in place
  • Host and plan special celebrations (e.g., birthdays, Christmas, Easter, St Andrew’s Day)
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
  • Update and manage Ashgill Care Home’s social media channels with relevant activity content
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends to support special events
