OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of our residents. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional care.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or assisted living setting is highly desirable.
  • A background in senior care or dementia care is beneficial.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with residents from diverse backgrounds.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative programmes that engage residents physically, mentally, and socially.

Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and oversee a diverse range of activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and mental stimulation for residents.
  • Assess the interests and needs of residents to create personalised activity programmes that cater to various abilities and preferences.
  • Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are integrated into each resident’s care plan.
  • Facilitate group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and outings, ensuring all participants feel included and valued.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and individual resident needs.
  • Ensure a safe environment during all activities, adhering to health and safety regulations.
