JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, particularly in assisted living and dementia care settings. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents, fostering social interaction and engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a senior care environment such as a nursing home or assisted living facility is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors, their families, and staff.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults through meaningful activities.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • A relevant qualification in health or social care would be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive activities programme that meets the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure activities are well-attended and enjoyable.
  • Organise events, outings, and group activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments based on resident feedback and participation levels.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that all activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive ability.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and preferences to tailor future programmes effectively.
  • Provide training and support to staff members assisting with activities.
