OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home - 18h per week - 6h per day. The ideal candidate will be passionate about senior care and possess the ability to create engaging and meaningful activities tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere, promoting social interaction, and ensuring that all residents feel valued and included.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • A genuine passion for working with seniors and understanding their unique needs.
  • Creativity in planning activities that stimulate physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Flexibility to adapt programming based on resident feedback and changing needs is crucial.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme that caters to the diverse interests of residents in assisted living, nursing home, and dementia care settings.
  • Coordinate daily activities, special events, and outings that encourage participation and enhance the well-being of residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to gather feedback and assess the effectiveness of activities offered.
  • Foster relationships with local organisations and community resources to enrich the activities programme.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and preferences to tailor future programmes accordingly.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely while adhering to health and safety regulations within the care environment.
  • Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
