DESCRIPTION

Priory Daffodil House is looking to recruit an Activities Coordinator to join the team. This is a part time 25 hours role.
Priory Daffodil House is a residential service in Pontypridd, South Wales. We provide support to males and females between the ages of 18 and 65, who are on the autistic spectrum who may also be presenting with complex needs.
We aim to help residents create and achieve goals, in order to lead a fulfilled and enriched life.

The service can also meet the needs of those who have:

  • Mental health needs
  • A learning disability
  • Epilepsy
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you’re assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • Prepares plans and delivers a wide range of activities and programmes that are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the individual, whilst also providing group activities and programmes that will bring the individuals together.
  • Participates in site wide programmes and activities, and in other home programmes, with the agreement of line manager.
  • Observes, records and reports Service user involvement in activities.
  • Ensures the effective, timely and accurate updating of healthcare and other records and computerised information systems as directed.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a mental health, learning disability, or challenging behaviour setting, having developed the necessary knowledge and skills for the role. They will either hold or be working towards NVQ Level 3 in Care (for existing employees), or be willing to work towards this qualification (for external applicants). The candidate will be able to organise and prioritise their own work in line with procedures and ward requirements, referring issues to senior staff as needed. The role requires flexibility in managing routine tasks, a creative approach when facilitating sessions, and a willingness to contribute ideas to develop and improve ward or hospital activities.
