ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR – CHELTENHAM -30 HOURS PER WEEK

  • £12.40per hour ( £1 enhancement at weekends )
  • Lilian Faithfull Care is a well-established charity based in Gloucestershire that provides care, support and a home for Life for the elderly.
  • We are looking for a new member of staff to join our existing wellbeing & activities team in one of our homes in Cheltenham to work with our residents to support their wellbeing and to help organise and implement activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A caring individual who is compassionate about providing care and support to the residents and their families.
  • A genuine interest in working within a caring environment, to help people retain their dignity and respect their privacy.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Work within a team
  • Ideally an activities qualification - but not essential
  • To be medication trained - allowance paid
  • Ideally a drive license - but not essential
Responsibilities
  • Planning, supporting and implementing activities for residents within & outside the home appropriate to their needs and requests. The activities must promote variety and social interactions.
  • Organising both group and one to one activities to ensure that person centred activities are received.
  • Creating activity plan’s based on each individual respecting their decisions, wishes, cultural and spiritual beliefs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of dementia and the importance of health, wellbeing and maintaining relationships
  • At all times ensuring the highest standards of care and dignity are maintained. whilst meeting the needs of our residents
  • Making a difference to each individual’s life in everything you do.
  • Encouraging residents to maintain their independence as fully as possible
  • Assisting with mobility, personal hygiene, ensuring dignity and respect for the residents at all times
