FULL TIME Day Shift Hourly $18-21 NeuroRestorative is located off Jacinto Rd. SUMMARY Works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below: Works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests. Determines and implements necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served. Provides instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques daily as well as at staff meetings. Maintains and continuously amends curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age appropriate activities are planned and conducted for individuals served. Attends continuing education courses as required. Performs other related duties and activities as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None required. Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities for this population Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid driver’s license in good standing Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services All state required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes Certification in Activity Coordinator preferred Other Skills and Abilities: N/A Other Requirements: Travel as needed Physical Requirements: Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
