ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a current qualification in one or more of the following:
  • Kayak instruction
  • Paddle Australia - Flatwater kayak instructor
  • SISOKYK005 Lead kayaking activities on inland flatwater
  • Paddle Australia - Whitewater kayak instructor
  • SISOKYK008 Lead kayaking activities on grade 3 rivers
  • Whitewater rafting
  • SISORAF002 Guide a raft on grade 3 rivers and SISORSC005 Rescue others in white water
  • International Rafting Federation – Raft guide
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain

It is an expectation that successful candidates have completed or are willing to complete (prior to commencement) one or more of the following courses:

  • 4-day learn to kayak course, and 2-day flatwater kayak instructor course
  • 6-day raft guide course

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Casual Activities Instructors provide high quality activities instruction and customer service to clients of the Penrith Whitewater Stadium.

  • Liaison and customer support and the opportunity to facilitate activities instruction and conduct activities for Venue clients.
  • Working with a diverse range of customers including children, adults, and persons of all abilities from diverse backgrounds.
