Description Brownsboro Park Retirement Community is looking to add a new team member to our Activities Department as a Van and Shuttle Driver. This is a full-time position, working 1st shift Monday through Friday. This position works primarily as a van and shuttle driver along with some specific responsibilities involving weekly and special activities in and/or out of the building. General Responsibilities Duties include operating and maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and resident courtesy; performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary; fueling the vehicles; ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported; documenting resident usage; preparing trip routes and scheduling drop-off and pick-up arrangements; preparing accident and incident reports as necessary; assisting residents and guests in and out of the vehicle; providing safety briefing to residents; and providing other services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation service. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud. Requirements Specific Requirements: 1. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record. 2. Candidate must have work-related driving experience and possess a knowledge of the city's network of roads. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior. 4. Supports and participates in respectful common teamwork: a. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment. b. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations. c. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns. d. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests. e. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
