Duties
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team. As an Activity Aide, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for our residents in assisted living, senior care, and dementia care settings. Your role will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities, such as games, crafts, music, and exercise programs
- Assist residents in participating in activities based on their individual needs and preferences
- Encourage social interaction and engagement among residents
- Escort residents to and from activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a stimulating and supportive environment
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Experience or knowledge in assisted living, senior care, dementia care, or nursing home settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassion and patience to provide emotional support to residents
- Creativity to develop engaging activities that cater to different interests and abilities
- Organizational skills to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
