Description
The Activities Aide supports the planning and implementation of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting. Working under the direction of the Activities Director, the Activities Aide encourages resident participation, assists with group and individual programs, and helps create a positive, engaging environment that promotes residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in organizing and conducting resident activities and events. * Encourage and support resident participation in group and individual programs. * Set up, maintain, and clean activity areas and supplies. * Conduct one-on-one visits with residents as needed. * Document resident participation and responses to activities. * Assist with special events, outings, and holiday celebrations. * Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with facility policies and resident care plans. * Attend required staff meetings and in-service training. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds as needed. This position plays an important role in fostering meaningful engagement and enriching the daily lives of residents.
