Description Albany Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Evanston, IL, is in need of Upbeat, Friendly, Compassionate Activity Aides. $19.50 per hour! Available Positions: Full-time 8a-4p Full-time 11a-7p If you love to bring people joy through all forms of creative interaction, you believe in the dignity of residents and always strive to interact with them in a manner that conveys kindness, warmth and respect, and you are considering a career in the mental health field and want first-hand experience in the setting, then this job is for you! As an Activity Aide, you will be planning, organizing and leading activities in the facility and on community outings under the direction of the Activities Director. Responsibilities of the Activity Aide: Participate in community planning related to the interests and needs of the consumer and family Assist the Activities Director in carrying out the plan of care for each consumer Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive, calm environment Record consumers' participation in daily activities and chart their progress Assist with recreational activities, arts and crafts, religious and community activities, service activities, intellectual and educational activities Requirements of the Activity Aide: High school diploma Valid Driver's License Demonstrate adequate English oral and written skills; bi-lingual a plus Must be highly organized, take initiative, think creatively and communicate well with others Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of the consumers Considerate, pleasant and professional in the performance of duties and interactions with other staff and consumers IND2
Responsibilities
The Activity Aide is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading creative activities and community outings for residents. They must document consumer participation and maintain a warm, positive environment under the direction of the Activities Director.
