Job Description Job Title: Activity Assistant Department: Activities Reports to: Activity Manager Prepared Date: June 10, 2008 Revision Date: 2024, 2023, 2010 Classification: Non-Exempt Summary Activity Assistant ensures the quality of activity programs is delivered. The activities program is designed to encourage socialization, relaxation, recreation, physical activity, and entertainment that is resident centered. Candidates for employment and existing employees must identify with, share in and display a commitment to the mission, philosophy and values of the Sisters of St. Dominic Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned and in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. · Activities assistants plan and facilitate social and recreational events to promote continued wellness · Professional activities assistants have understanding of the in the cognitive and physical needs of the elderly population. · Provide varied activities that are appropriate for our group’s age and abilities · Activities assistants also complete some administrative duties including ordering supplies and creating newsletters or schedules along with the Director. · The Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has specific reporting and documentation requirements · Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner. · Demonstrates compliance with infection prevention and control practices in a healthcare setting as per CDC Guidance · Ensures rights of the residents, dignity, privacy and confidentiality are maintained Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.
