JOB SUMMARY

The Activity Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer’s care needs.   • Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, is essential.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and residents to identify interests and preferences for activities.
  • Facilitate group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise classes.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with health regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
  • Provide support to residents during activities, offering assistance as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and family members regarding activity schedules and updates.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes regularly and make adjustments based on resident feedback.
