OVERVIEW

Must be a UK resident and working in the UK for 3 years
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and senior care settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and a strong understanding of dementia care, ensuring that all activities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is preferred, particularly in assisted living or nursing home settings.
  • A background in activities is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with elderly individuals.
  • Creative thinking and organisational skills to develop diverse activity programmes.
  • A compassionate approach towards caring for others, demonstrating empathy and patience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Being able to drive a 12 seater mini bus is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging activity programmes that cater to the interests and abilities of residents.
  • Facilitate group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and physical exercises.
  • Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ needs and preferences, ensuring activities are suitable for those with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Document participation levels and assess the impact of activities on residents’ well-being.
  • Organise special events and outings that foster social interaction among residents.
