By the end of the summer, your resume could say: Activity Leader and Language Immersion Specialist Alpadia Language Schools As a full-time, seasonal staff member of Alpadia Language School’s language immersion camps, I served as group leader and language immersion guide for 13–17-year-old students coming from every continent. My 24-hour responsibilities included supporting student’s social, emotional and cultural development, designing and guiding excursions with 20-40 participants, diverse skill transfer through activity facilitation, child safeguarding and risk management. Working in an innovative, fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment also allowed me to develop crucial competences in solution-focused conflict management, child development and language teaching. Job Description Our Activity Leaders are responsible for delivering fun and engaging activities and excursions to a group of international students, following Alpadia’s innovative approach to language immersion and experiential learning. You will be working closely with other Activity Leaders and Teachers, ensuring our students have a meaningful, adventurous time in camp, full of learning and personal growth, while offering your expert supervision and safety. Additionally, you’ll take an active role in the day-to-day operations of camp via attendance checks, helping out during wake-ups and bedtime, and leading camp-wide Evening Programs. Qualifications Essential Criteria Experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum), ability to learn activity-specific vocabulary to ensure language immersion Fluency in English High physical, mental and emotional resilience Experience in meaningful, professional teamwork High energy level, excitement and comfort speaking in front of large groups Availability for at least 5 weeks of the summer. Desired Criteria Fluency in German and English Experience in outdoor education or summer camps Driver’s License, and ability to drive a minivan Availability for the entire summer season (June 20 – August 9) Additional Information What we offer A weekly summer salary between 710-720 EUR 2 days of pre-summer staff training on language immersion, child development, outdoor facilitation and solution-focused, positive behavior support and conflict resolution techniques Full Room and Board during the entirety of the summer Travel Reimbursement up to 160 EUR Recommendation Bonuses for other staff members that you send our way a chance to grow and develop your skills as an educator while working in a team of dedicated youth work professionals throughout the summer.
