Job DetailsJob Location: 100 FANNY ROAD - MOUNTAIN LAKES, NJ 07046Position Type: SeasonalSalary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Title: Activity Leader Location: Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, Mountain Lakes, NJ Dates: June 22nd – August 14th (Optional add on of August 17 – 21st) Times: 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM/ four days a week and 8:00 - 5:30 PM/ one day a week. Required orientations in May Join an admin team that delivers guidance to staff and motivates their division. Activity Leaders are in charge of day-to-day operations of the program which includes meetings, parking lot duties, working with behavioral staff, set-up and clean-up of activities, lunch patrol, general camp supervision, support of staff, and completing end of the summer evaluations. Must be able to both supervise and coach staff to ensure that the quality of the program is upheld. Serve as a positive role model and leader for camp staff Oversee day-to-day program operations including meetings, transitions, supervision, and logistics Coach and mentor counselors to uphold the highest program quality Partner with behavioral/camper care teams to support staff and campers Organize and execute exciting afternoon activity schedules Plan and run rainy day programming Ensure activity areas are prepared with proper equipment and supplies Assist with special events (Opening Day, Theme Days, Final Day Celebrations, etc.) Support staff morale through incentives and social events Communicate important camp updates and rally team spirit Supervise general camp safety including lunch patrol, parking lot duty, and site cleanup Complete end-of-summer staff evaluations Attend pre-camp training and meetings One day per week you’ll serve as the designated closer (until 5:30pm). Qualifications Previous experience working with school-age children Strong leadership and coaching skills Excellent communication and sound judgment A positive, team-first mindset
