Position Title: Actuarial Analyst Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Provide analytical support to Senior Actuaries and Underwriting management • Review commercial and/or personal rates for assigned products and recommend changes as needed • Prepare classification level and segmentation analyses • Develop and maintain reports to assist the Claims department • Conduct reserve analyses quarterly • Assist in maintenance and development of various rating and financial models • Maintain actuarial data warehouses for assigned products • Keep abreast of current industry and actuarial developments • Monitor industry trends in frequency and severity, and investigate any material differences between external/internal trends • Pass actuarial exams in a timely manner • Other duties may be assigned Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related field; experience in an actuarial, product management, or other Property/Casualty insurance role. Knowledge/Skills • Ability to take direction and complete projects with assistance from senior staff • Completion of two or more actuarial exams • Knowledge of databases, data extraction, and data analytics methods • Detail-oriented • Capable of working in a team environment • Analytical and financial modeling skills • Strong oral and written communication skills in order to successfully communicate technical work to a non-technical audience • Intellectually curious, with strong problem-solving abilities Computer Skills • Advanced Excel, Visual Basic, SQL and Word skills Hallmark Financial Services is an equal opportunity employer.
