As an Actuarial Analyst, you’ll put your technical skills to work using programming languages and AI tools to take on complex, high-impact projects. Just as important, you’ll bring strong communication skills to the table, since much of your work will be done in close collaboration with others.
Please note that the Actuarial Analyst role is not part of Mutual of Omaha’s Actuarial Student Program and will not offer actuarial exam support. The emphasis of this role will be on the technical aspects of processes and effective communication to colleagues, including other IT staff and actuaries.

Responsibilities
  • Use programming languages such as Python to improve efficiency and automate processes.
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence tools to gather information and to provide insights about how to address a technical problem.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of business systems and tools.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial data to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other technical staff on the modernization of processes.
  • Manage project workflow, budgeting time among different tasks and priorities.
  • Ask questions when confronted with incomplete information or ambiguity to drive toward a feasible solution.
  • Prepare reports and visualizations that bring data to life.
  • Communicate the impact and applicability of technical work with key stakeholders, such as staff in IT, Product Development, and actuarial managers.
