Job Description The Actuarial Data Specialist, a qualified or near-qualified actuary, acts as the actuarial expert within the Finance Information Model and Data Acquisition team. This role combines actuarial knowledge with strong business analysis skills to translate actuarial requirements into technical solutions, creating data solutions that meet business needs and align with the Finance Data Strategy. In This Role You Will Convert actuarial business requirements for policy, claims, reinsurance, and finance data into technical specifications to support data acquisition. Evaluate requirements and recommend practical data solutions that meet actuarial objectives while aligning with technical constraints. Keep data dictionaries, entity specifications, and requirements documentation up to date for system implementations. Serve as the main point of contact between actuarial teams and the Finance Information Model and Data Acquisition team, facilitating requirements discussions. Identify opportunities to automate and improve data-related processes and coordinate their implementation with technical teams. Qualifications 3+ years of actuarial experience. At least 1 year of experience in actuarial system implementation or data analysis. Experience with actuarial modeling systems such as Prophet, MoSes, or equivalent. Proficiency in programming languages including R, SAS, Python, or VBA. Strong communication skills, capable of clearly conveying actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Actuarial designation achieved or near completion (e.g., ASA/FSA, ACAS/FCAS, or equivalent).
