Adabas Database Administrator
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Infotel UK Consulting is an innovative IT solutions and services provider. We are seeking an experienced Adabas Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, performance, and security of Adabas databases, ensuring that they operate efficiently and securely to meet our clients’ needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as an Adabas DBA or Mainframe DBA, with a strong understanding of mainframe technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Adabas database architecture and administrative functions
  • Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a mainframe environment
  • Familiarity with relevant programming languages and tools related to database management
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
  • Relevant certifications in database administration are a considerable advantage
Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer Adabas database systems in a mainframe environment
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation
  • Perform database backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning
  • Implement security protocols to safeguard data integrity and prevent unauthorised access
