In this position... Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Help Me Drive (HMD) Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer focuses on ensuring the feature delivers the expectations of the customer. You will develop and implement feature requirements and specifications (including functional safety) for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Assist, Lane Keeping, Driver Monitoring, BlueCruise (hands free driving), automated lane change and lane biasing and validate them according to the systems engineering model. As an V&V Engineer, you will collaborate with research engineers, user experience teams, designers, hardware and software developers to define, develop, and verify the customer-facing attributes and performance capabilities of ADAS features. You will also develop new verification methods and work with vehicle, hardware-in-the-loop, model-in-the-loop and other advanced testing methodologies to validate your feature. What you'll do... • Develop, refine, and execute design validation methods to ensure proper ADAS HMD feature performance at the component, system, and vehicle level across a variety of environmental and cross-carline noise factors. • Complete sign off of feature performance for ADAS HMD features • Lead / support the development of verification plans and verification methods • Support upgrades and enhancements to ADAS HMD features, by working closely with feature owners to design/execute model changes, regression testing, and test vectors, review data, identify issues, and interact with suppliers. • Support the development of data analysis techniques and methods from feature performance data generated by both track and real-world validation methods. • Closely coordinate with feature development engineers to support execution of design verification plans to ensure proper feature-level performance. • Collaborate with global functional partners to meet system and vehicle level performance requirements • Cascade system-level requirements to functional partners • Lead/support the development and sign-off of ADAS features on vehicle programs • Support feature calibration studies to satisfy vehicle-level performance requirements • Develop MATLAB and CAN tools for data collection and analysis • Identify opportunities to utilize HiL and CAE methods for feature calibration and performance verification • Plan and execute real-world evaluations of ADAS features via vehicle/HIL/virtual testing and identify system problems and issues • Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal functions and external suppliers to ensure delivered system achieves feature requirements • Benchmark competitors and monitor public domain requirements You'll bring... Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Experience developing/testing features in using radars, cameras, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, or other related vehicle systems (body, electrical, chassis, powertrain) Familiarity with actuators and control systems Even better, you may have... Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Software, Computer Science, AI, Systems Engineering, Product Development or a related field. Experience applying Systems Engineering principles Experience with robotic verification and testing methods Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems Experience with differential GPS equipment Experience using typical automotive interfaces: CAN, CANFD, Autosar, Auto-Ethernet, etc. Experience using Vector CANape, CANalyzer and dSPACE Controls Desk or similar tools Analytical and creative problem-solving skills Exposure to vehicle attributes development (e.g. vehicle dynamics, steering/chassis systems, etc.) Experience in project management and/or an integration role Experience with failure mode analysis techniques Experience leading the validation and verification of ADAS sensing systems Experience with computer vision & radar tracking of humans, vehicles, static roadway obstacles or other typical road objects. Experience with computer vision detection & tracking of signs, lights, lanes and other key artifacts. Experience reviewing, categorizing, and analyzing field data to determine error states / failure modes. Experience with Matlab/Simulink Experience with model-based design methods in Simulink for creation/development and enhancement of current/new features. This position is a salary grade 5 - 8 and ranges from $66,660 - $175,000.
