Description
Develop, refine, and execute design validation methods to ensure proper sensing system performance at the component, system, and vehicle level across a variety of environmental and cross-carline noise factors. Complete sign off of feature level performance for ADAS sensing systems. Support development, design, and verification of use cases and functional level requirements & targets for ADAS sensing systems. Support upgrades and enhancements to ADAS sensing systems, by working closely with feature owners to design/execute modeling changes, regression testing, test vector support, data review, issue identification and supplier interaction. Support development and refinement of functional safety requirements, item definition, hazard analysis & risk assessment, and functional safety concept in compliance with ISO-26262 / Ford Functional Safety process for ADAS sensing systems Ensure system design, failure mode analysis, functional safety, and other deliverables allow for seamless integration with existing features and provide a thrilling user experience. Support the development of data analysis techniques and methods from sensing system data generated by both track and real-world validation methods to achieve desired specifications. Closely coordinate with feature development engineers to support execution of design verification plans to ensure proper feature-level performance. Support the planning and execution of real-world evaluations to identify system problems and issues. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 1 year validation/test engineering experience in a professional or educational setting, in any combination. General knowledge or experience developing/testing features and/or sensing systems in the ADAS domain using radars, cameras, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, or other related vehicle systems (body, electrical, chassis, powertrain) Familiarity with actuators and control systems Proven technical skills using Vector, CANalyzer, and CANape tools Prior ADAS Experience Analytical and creative problem-solving skills Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Exposure to vehicle attributes development (Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Package, Performance/FE, etc.) Experience in project management and/or an integration role, leading and directing other team members. Experience with failure mode analysis techniques Experience leading the validation and verification of ADAS sensing systems Experience with computer vision & radar tracking of humans, vehicles, static roadway obstacles or other typical road objects. Experience with computer vision detection & tracking of signs, lights, lanes and other key artifacts. Understanding of embedded hardware and software design. Experience reviewing, categorizing, and analyzing field data to determine error states / failure modes.
