PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Resident ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Systems Engineer specializing in active safety functionality plays a pivotal role in the development and integration of advanced safety systems within vehicles. Based at a client site in northern Germany, this position involves working directly with the client and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate active safety assist technologies, ensuring vehicles can drive autonomously and safely.

SKILLS

Must have
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ADAS or related automotive systems, with a focus on active safety functionalities, like Automatic Emergency Braking, Automated Emergency Steering Assist, Lane Change Assist, Crossing / Turn Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Assist, Pre-Crash Assist.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of sensors (e.g., camera, radar), control algorithms, and systems management experience.
Prototype driving license (Level 1).
Nice to have
Language: German (proficient), English (proficient)
System Integration: Experience with integrating ADAS systems into vehicle architectures and working with CAN, CAN FD, and automotive ETH bus systems and related communication protocols.
Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Innovation: Creative thinking and a passion for developing cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Certifications: Certification to work on battery electric vehicles (Level E)

Responsibilities

First Contact / Client Collaboration:
Act as the primary point of contact for the customer, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively close to the customer and on customer premises in WOB.
Work closely with the client to meet their requirements and expectations, ensuring a seamless operation and user experience.
Design and Development:
Requirements Management: Define and manage system requirements, ensuring that all active safety related specifications are met and documented.
Lead the design and development of advanced active safety assistance systems, including sensors and all relevant system components.
Ensure comprehensive documentation of all active safety related systems requirements and architecture including full traceability on systems level and the link to the software requirements and architecture.
Compliance: Ensure that active safety systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
System Validation:
Conduct extensive testing and validation of active safety systems in the vehicle on proving grounds.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to active safety systems, collaborating with software and hardware teams to implement solutions.
Compliance: Ensure that active safety systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Documentation: Ensure proper comprehensive problem description of all identified deviations and creation and prioritization of problem reports.
