Description

Fresh Start Recovery Centre (Calgary location) has an opening for an Addiction Counsellor to join our team. The Addiction Counsellor’s primary purpose is to provide a professional and ethical application of addictions counselling tasks and responsibilities to include but not limited to evaluation, treatment, planning, referrals, service coordination, community education, group facilitation and documentation. This is performed under the supervision of a program manager/director. In addition to the aforementioned tasks, an addictions counsellor will be familiar with other services and resources in the community and work closely to provide information and support when required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Post-secondary certification in addiction counselling or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience plus have 2 years recent experience in performing a broad range of related activities in addiction assessment, treatment planning and counselling with a recognized addiction treatment provider or enrolled and working towards your CACCF certification from an approved educational provider. Experience working with adults with mental health and substance misuse disorders.

Ability to operate related equipment and software programs
Have an equivalent combination of education, training, experience, and certification in; First Aid and CPR.
Class 5 Drivers License
