Position #: 185918 Expected Start Date: December 22, 2025 Union: OOS Facility: St Josephs Hospital City/Town: Estevan Department: Community Addiction Services Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: As per Terms and Conditions of Employment Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The incumbent will provide clinical addiction services to a primarily adult population however as necessary and appropriate, they may provide services to youth as well. The primary goal of this position is to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help with substance use problems by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery therapies. These services will be delivered through a combination of direct services, consultation, community resource development and education. Responsibilities include providing informational programming, individual and group counselling with relevant family and community members, assessing individual and group needs of clients and implementing treatment plans to assist clients in reaching their recovery goals. The incumbent assists with the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of Addiction Services. Other related services include community education & development and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Degree in Addiction Counseling or another Degree acceptable to the Employer Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Memberships Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) Competencies Basic - Counseling skills Intermediate - Verbal communication skills Basic - Time management skills Intermediate - Written Communication Skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions Knowledge in applicable tools and techniques of research Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures Ability to collect, record, report comprehensive client information accurately Knowledge of program planning process Ability to recognize and maintain confidential information Ability to engage in resource development within the community. Interacts with clients, families and staff in a tactful, meaningful way Ability to conduct assessments/prioritize client needs/develop treatment plans Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies Ability to prioritize work Proficient in case management skills and client follow-up Ability to multitask Ability to engage in community program consultation. Ability to provide counseling and therapy to individuals, couples and groups Knowledge in assessment, treatment, and consultation Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures Knowledge of chemical dependency/co-dependency and effect on the family unit.
