Job description: Job Overview About Us We are a CARF-accredited, Maryland-licensed behavioral health provider offering a full continuum of care, including Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient Treatment (Level I), and Level 0.5 Early Intervention/DUI-DWI programs. Our team is committed to delivering person-centered, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care to support individuals on their recovery journey. Position Summary The Addiction Counselor provides direct clinical services to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. This role includes assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, and care coordination. The counselor works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery, improve functioning, and promote long-term wellness. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Services Conduct comprehensive assessments (biopsychosocial and ASAM level of care determinations) Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Provide individual counseling sessions based on medical necessity Facilitate group therapy sessions (IOP and OP), including: Psychoeducation Relapse prevention Coping and life skills Care Coordination Collaborate with therapists, PRP staff, medical providers, and care team members Coordinate referrals to detox, higher levels of care, and community resources Support discharge planning and aftercare services Documentation & Compliance Complete progress notes within 24–48 hours of service delivery Maintain documentation in compliance with: CARF standards Maryland COMAR regulations Medicaid/payer requirements Conduct treatment plan reviews and ASAM reassessments as required Crisis Intervention Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary Support clients with relapse prevention and stabilization strategies Team Participation Attend: Clinical supervision Team meetings and case conferences Required trainings and quality improvement activities Qualifications Education Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field Licensure/Certification (Required) Must hold one of the following Maryland credentials: ADT CSC-AD CAC-AD LCADC Or a licensed mental health professional recognized by the State of Maryland Experience Minimum 2 years of substance use counseling experience preferred Skills Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, relapse prevention) Strong documentation and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment Benefits Flexible schedule Paid Time Off (PTO) (eligible employees) Professional development and training opportunities Supportive team environment Apply Today Join a mission-driven team dedicated to transforming lives through recovery and behavioral health services.
