As an Additional Learning Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, encouraging independence, and supporting their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Good written and oral communication skills at GCSE level (or willingness to work towards them)
  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • The ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Understanding of the diverse needs of learners experiencing difficulties
  • A professional, team-oriented approach with strong organisational skill

As part of your role, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to learners across college sites, including personal care where required
  • Contribute to activities that promote participation, retention, and achievement
  • Support access arrangements for exams and contribute to student support planning
  • Liaise with tutors and support staff to meet individual learner needs
  • Maintain accurate records and complete relevant administrative task
