Job Overview
The candidate(s) will be appointed to provide highly specialised ADHD assessments to patients experiencing symptoms of ADHD. Under the supervision of a GMC registered Psychiatrist, the candidate will be accountable for the delivery of “Gold Standard” ADHD assessment reports, diagnoses of ADHD (where applicable) and the delivery of appropriate treatment and aftercare (where applicable).
The patient group will include privately funded patients and patients on current NHS waiting lists. Knowledge and expertise of NHS systems, processes and service standards is crucial for this role, as is proficiency in collaborative working with NHS staff involved in the patient’s care, under the Shared Care Model.
Candidates will be expected to offer a screening service to patients, prior to a full ADHD assessment, where clinically appropriate to do so.
All candidates must have completed UKAAN recognised training for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults. Competency in Semi-Structured Interviews for ADHD in Adults (DIVA-5) is compulsory for the role. Candidates are also required to have significant expertise in report writing, including experience in providing healthcare and occupational recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-hour online ADHD “Pre Screen Consultations” to patients, in alignment with clinical guidelines and customer service requirements.
• Provide highly specialised online ADHD assessments reflective of NHS Gold Standard criteria.
• Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnostic reports within 1 week of patient consultation.
• Provide ADHD treatment and aftercare to patients where applicable including follow-up appointments during titration periods (as applicable).
• Under the supervision of the consultant psychiatrist to issue ADHD medication prescriptions, conduct medication reviews, and issue repeat prescriptions as applicable.
• To signpost patients to mental health and physical health services where applicable.
• Provide consultative advice to healthcare professionals involved in patient’s care as applicable.
• Attend clinical supervision with a Consultant Psychiatrist for patient diagnosis and treatment purposes.
• Commitment to provide a minimum of 5 hours per week to Dr Julian Medical Group.

Aptitudes and Competencies

• Ability to work with patients with complex, challenging or distressing symptomology and presentations.
• Ability to provide a minimum of 5 hours a week to Dr Julian Medical Group.
• Commitment to complete ADHD assessment reports within 1 week of patient consultation.
• Willingness to attend supervision.
• Ability to adhere to all Dr-Julian in-house policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Recognised NMC Degree/diploma.
• NMC/ HCPC registration.
• NMC-approved prescribing qualification.
• Completion of UKAAN-recognised ADHD training.
• DIVA-5 competency (mandatory).
• Substantial experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.
• Adult and Child Safeguarding Level 3.
• Substantial experience in working with patients with symptoms of neurodiversity.
• Demonstrable evidence of ability to advise patients and healthcare professionals in the management of ADHD symptoms.
• Evidence of ability to provide comprehensive, high-quality clinical reports, that provide appropriate recommendations, based on sound clinical judgement and expertise.
• Experience in providing online clinical assessments and treatment.
• Demonstrable experience in an MDT capacity.
• 5+ years post-qualification experience

Desirable

• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Safeguarding Level 4
• Experience delivering group or individual supervision
