POSITION SUMMARY:

MassBay Community College is seeking a qualified part-time Computed Tomography Clinical Instructor for the current and future semesters. The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and possess a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This individual provides continuity for the clinical program. They ensure that students and our healthcare partners have a point of contact for clinical matters, that students maintain their clinical records, progress clinically, and adhere to college and hospital protocols. This clinical instructor conducts scheduled clinical visits for students participating in the clinical program. This person ensures the program operates per the ARRT curriculum for Computed Tomography programs and that students have the necessary documentation to be in the clinical environment. This role involves working collaboratively with the Radiologic Technology program director and other program faculty to facilitate the smooth operation of the Computed Tomography program. The clinical instructor must have experience and certification in computed tomography, communicate effectively, assess students objectively, and work as part of a team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of four (4) years of recent work experience in a Computed Tomography role or a relevant combination of Imaging work experience;

  • Teaching experience, which includes working at a Teaching Hospital, also applies here;
  • Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;

    • Organized and punctual.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    Provide students with a structured approach to organize paperwork for their attendance, clinical,b and other required clinical documents;

    • Communicate effectively and promptly with program officials on students’ academic progress and needs;
    • Visit students during clinicals and check in with preceptors about their progress;
    • Participate in evaluating courses and program learning outcomes;
    • Track student progress, contribute to the accreditation/compliance reporting, and annually/ regularly assess the program;
    • Adhere to established college, program, and hospital protocols and procedures, including the college calendar and deadlines;
    • Stay current about developments in the profession on the adjunct’s own time;
    • Use the College’s technology efficiently to effectively teach, assess, and communicate with students;

      • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean or their designee.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    The clinical instructor functions as Program Organizer to implement the program and assist in recruiting students. You are the connection between the clinical partners and the college, and you help to resolve student concerns that arise. Working along with admissions and advising, you will communicate with prospective students, assist with information sessions, and new student orientations. This may include scheduling classes and supporting other/new faculty of the program. Reporting on the success of the program is a part of this role. Some of this work occurs between semesters and during summer. This position is based in Framingham, but you will need to do some travel for clinical/site visits. There will be times, with advanced notice, when you may be required to be on campus. Much of this work can occur remotely.
    These additional duties and responsibilities are compensated at the hourly rate of $35/hr. On average, it is expected to require 4-6 hours per week.
