Description
The Department of English at Calvin University invites applications for part-time instruction in the area of first-year writing. English 101 is a four-credit course, taught fully in-person and during the day. The appointment will be for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning August 31, 2026. A commitment to the Christian faith is essential. Candidates are expected to affirm the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. REQUIREMENTS A commitment to the Christian faith and a willingness to integrate that faith into classroom teaching and student development is essential. A master’s degree or above in English is required; applicants with degrees in adjacent fields must have 18 credit hours of English at the graduate level. College teaching experience is required; applicants who have five or more years of experience teaching first-year writing will be preferred. All applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and instructional technology as required.
