POSITION OFFERED: Adjunct Teaching Faculty – Social Science   EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2026 – 01/26/2026-05/15/2026        TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Adjunct, Non-renewable                               JOB DESCRIPTION: The department of Social Science is accepting applications for the position of adjunct for spring 2026. Candidates will be considered for other courses as their credentials allow.   SOCI206/HUMS206 Juvenile Delinquency course description: This course focuses on analysis of the demography of delinquency and gangs, the selective characteristics of delinquents and gangs, the societal processes related to their causes, theories concerning causes and prevention, and the evaluation of empirical studies and programs provided by youth agencies and the juvenile justice system. Students research and analyze landmark cases of the U.S. Supreme Court. SOCI206/HUMS206 fulfills the SUNY General Education Social Sciences requirement.   Teaching assignments may involve teaching day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses. For spring 2026, one class will be taught in person, and one class will be taught asynchronous online.   Adjunct instructors will be expected to: •  Provide excellent teaching and instruction •  Create, submit, and follow a syllabus that aligns with the course’s Master Course Syllabus •  Use the Learning Management System to provide course materials to students •  Be available to students through office hours, timely grading, and responsive communication •  Read and abide by the policies listed in the Teaching Manual •  Submit all records by their respective deadline, including progress reports, student concern notices, and grades •  Understand and enact mission and values of TC3, and the equity, diversity, justice and inclusion plan.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Counseling, Health, Human Services, Social Work or closely related field or Master's Degree with 18 graduation hours in same areas. Ability to teach in a remote environment.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching in an accredited higher education institution, especially a community college, is preferred.   EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: For Adjunct Faculty, rates are found in the most recent adjunct contract. For each credit, the Spring 2026 entry pay rate is $1,105 - $1,165 dependent upon qualifications.   Review of applicants will begin November 26, 2025.
