Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Culinary Arts Adjunct Faculty position in the Business & Public Service Technology division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

PREFERENCES MAY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Master’s degree in culinary arts or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in a culinary related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Prior teaching experience
    WORK SCHEDULE: May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Work experience must include competencies, skills, and knowledge level included in the culinary arts field
Responsibilities

Under general supervision, provide instruction for credited culinary arts core course syllabus; ensuring the outcomes meet the stated objectives.

  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of gradebooks and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
  • Demonstrate the effective use of effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current procedures in the Culinary Arts field.
  • Follow approved course syllabus.
  • Responsible for teaching and monitoring students on internship.
  • Complete all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner and maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
  • Monitor students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student classroom and laboratories.
  • Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
  • Observe and enforce institution’s policies and regulations.
  • Assist with student recruitment and job placements directed by the division chair.
  • Serve on committees as directed and coordinated by the division chair.

    Competencies:

  • Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials.

  • Knowledge of vocational area of assignment.
  • Skill in presenting subject matter.
  • Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress.
  • Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners.

  • Knowledge of student information systems.
