Sussex County Community College is seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates interested in an Adjunct Instructor position for the College’s Agriculture Business & Horticulture Science program.
Adjunct Instructors are responsible for providing high-quality delivery of course content to students in accordance with course competencies and College policies, using a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and modalities/delivery methods.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science required
  • Master’s Degree in a related Agriculture/Horticulture preferred

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Experience teaching in a remote environment preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong technical and computer proficiency is recommended.
    The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use for is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or similar learning platform is preferred.
    Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and providing course instruction and conducting classes in accordance with the philosophy of the college and within the scope of a defined course of study.
  • Assisting students with coursework.
  • Assessing student performance including but not limited to critiquing and evaluating student course work, taking attendance, grading assignments, projects, and exams in a timely fashion, and assisting students in achieving successful outcomes.
  • Adhering to administrative time lines for submission of attendance, grades and other required documents.
  • Ability to teach evening classes in a remote or face-to-face classroom environment.
  • Ability to use technology and interactive electronic materials to support teaching and learning, including Microsoft Suite programs.
  • Ability to schedule office hours for student appointments.
